Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists

NEW AND IMPORTANT UPDATES

  • ANNOUNCED AUGUST 14, 2026 – The Board is in urgent need for additional licensed civil engineers with prior engineering surveying experience to assist as a subject matter expert for the purposes of writing and reviewing exam questions for the California Civil – Engineering Surveying exam. Due to the nature for how licensed civil engineers practice today, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find enough licensed civil engineers who actually have engineering surveying experience related to their authority under Business and Professions Code, section 6731.1 to write a sufficient number of quality exam questions. If you are interested, please contact Christina Trujillo (Christina.Trujillo@dca.ca.gov) for more information on how to become involved.
  • ADDED August 12, 2026 – The 2026 Summer Bulletin for the Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists is now available on the Board's website.
  • ANNOUNCED JULY 10, 2026 – The Civil Seismic Principles Exam will continue the test to the 2022 California Building Code and ASCE 7–16 for the remainder of 2026. The 2025 California Building Code and ASCE 7–22 will be implemented on the 2027 Civil Seismic Principles Exam.
